The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium owns Zoombezi Bay, a 22.7-acre (9.2 ha) water park located north of Columbus in Powell, Ohio. The park is located on the former site of Wyandot Lake Adventure Park, which the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium acquired in 2006. On May 26, 2008, Zoombezi Bay officially opened to the public. With more than 400,000 visitors a year, it is today one of the most well-liked water parks in the Midwest. There are 17 slides in Zoombezi Bay, including Big Boa Falls and Python Plunge.
